The RM50 million clubhouse at Horizon Hills befits a country club with the corporate in mind. Its facilities include lockers for more than 300 persons, two swimming pools, conference and seminar rooms, a state-of-the-art ballroom, gymnasium, children’s play room, a Chinese restaurant, Cross-over cafe and a terrace with a view.
But Horizon Hills is destined for greater things. It is part of a 1,200-acre township development that encompasses new waterfront real estate, retail outlets and village square bonded together by lakes, ponds and canals. The modern clubhouse will form the heart and soul of the township – a centre stage for recreation and social gatherings for friends, families and corporate entities.
The clubhouse will be the community centre for the impressive township of Horizon Hills, located in the heart of Nusajaya, a key flagship zone within the Iskandar Development Region. The rectangular-shaped building is unique as it is stylish, modern as well as functional. Much thought went into the design especially in golf operations and this is where Horizon Hills has the edge over the rest.
Registration for tournament golf, access to the locker rooms and electric buggies is a breeze here. Everything is within an arm’s reach. Even when dispatching golfers to their designated teeboxes for an 18-point start. The clubhouse sits atop a ridge which seemingly divides the course into the Front Nine on the right and the Back Nine on the left. Therefore there is no clumsy traffic when all the buggies move off at once.
Another unique design of the clubhouse permits golfers to drive into the clubhouse when crossing over. And the lockers and toilets are mere yards away from the half-way mark. And it was only logical that a cafe – the Crossover Bar – was installed nearby to provide more refreshments and light snacks to be taken away.
The Golfers’ Terrace one floor above provides scenic views of the course and the hills in the distance. The food here is impressive. Be prepared to whet your appetite with Western, local and Asian delicacies. You can almost fine-dine here at really affordable prices.
Horizon Hills caters to non-golfing activities including wedding dinners and lunches that can be held either at the Cathay Chinese Restaurant or the Ballroom which will hold up to 450 people. The Cathay has magnificent views of the 9th hole and the practice area. The fourth F&B outlet at Horizon Hills is the Poolside Cafe, overlooking an Olympic-sized swimming pool and a wading pool for kids.
